Arrest referral is an intervention that seeks to put a detainee in police
cells and court in contact with a drugs and / or alcohol worker who will
be able to give advice, information and onward referrals for their drug or
alcohol use.
This service provides:

Information; advice and counselling to any person who is arrested or comes into contact with the police and wishes to speak to someone confidentially about their drug and alcohol use.

Who can use the service?
Any client who comes into contact with the criminal justice system, such
as those in custody / courts, will be offered the opportunity to access an
arrest referral worker. Arrest referral workers will see clients over the age
of 18. Parental consent is necessary before talking to someone under
the age of 17.
